Job Description

Location: Onsite – Dollar General Store Support Center, Goodlettsville, TN

Contract: 6-month contract with potential for extension

Overview:

The Computer Operator supports daily IT operations, including batch job execution, system monitoring, and backup preparation.

Schedule:

• Weeks 1–2: Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weeks 3–4: Thursday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Rotating biweekly schedule

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute scheduled and manual batch jobs.
• Monitor AS/400 systems, store PC network, and job scheduler.
• Use automated tools to track network and store polling systems.
• Prepare and manage backup media for offsite storage.
• Respond to phone requests and troubleshoot system issues.
• Escalate errors and assist with resolution.
• Support shift Team Leader with departmental initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Help desk support and customer service.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with AS/400, UNIX, and Microsoft commands.
• Knowledge of hardware configurations and DCIM tools.
• Experience with automated batch processing and monitoring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear and effective communication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
